SSQ Insurance continues with its digital health strategy

SSQ Insurance partners with HALEO and MindBeacon Group in an effort to give its group insurance plan members access to digital cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). These partnerships stem from the insurer’s desire to find innovative ways to satisfy the needs of its customers, namely through the deployment of a digital health strategy. Through this modern, online approach, SSQ Insurance is hoping to help its customers with mental health management, specifically through the prevention and early detection of sleep and stress-related problems as well as mood and anxiety disorders.

SSQ Insurance adds pharmacogenetic testing to its group insurance offering

SSQ Insurance now offers coverage of pharmacogenetic tests as a new option in group insurance. These tests help analyze how a person’s DNA will react to a prescription drug, making it easier for attending physicians to identify the most appropriate drug for each patient. SSQ Insurance aims to make life easier for its insured customers by helping them access optimal treatment, and for its policyholders by making it possible to better control the cost of drugs.

A.M. Best upgrades SSQ, Life Insurance Company Inc. credit ratings

SSQ Insurance is very pleased with the decision by A.M. Best Co. to upgrade the credit ratings for SSQ, Life Insurance Company Inc. The international rating agency specializing in insurance upgraded the insurer’s rating for financial strength from “A-” to “A (excellent).” The issuer credit rating has also been increased to “a.” The outlook attributed to both ratings is stable.

SSQ Insurance, in collaboration with the Club de volleyball Rouge et Or de l’Université Laval, is inviting the general public to the 28th edition of the Volleyball Challenge. Held September 20 and 21 at the Desjardins-UL Amphitheatre located in the PEPS pavilion, this is the marquis event for all volleyball fans as it marks the official start of the UL Rouge et Or season.

Rooftop Garden at SSQ Insurance

In addition to having a green roof on the SSQ Tower in Longueuil, SSQ Insurance will now have its own urban garden. This summer, the roof of the SSQ building at 2505 Laurier Boulevard will be used to grow fruits, vegetables and herbs. It’s a sustainable development initiative that will enable us to give back to the community.

SSQ Insurance posts excellent financial results at its Annual Meeting celebrating the company’s 75th anniversary

SSQ Insurance finished the fiscal year with an excellent net income of $94.6 million, representing a 4.6% increase over last year. This result yielded a 10.2% return on equity. The diversification of the company’s operations and its ongoing efforts to reduce administrative expenses helped it reach this level of profitability.
