Development Projects
In the light of ongoing developments in the real estate market,
SSQ has become increasingly interested in diversifying its
real estate assets. Several development and acquisition projects,
including residential and office building plans, are currently
being studied. SSQ foresees a multitude of opportunities for
it to offer its services to an increasingly diversified clientele.
To achieve this goal, the Group is open to establishing partnerships
with other firms in order to enable it to enhance and add value
to the services already offered to clients.
La Cité verte real estate development project
This innovative real estate development project to be built on one of the largest remaining properties
available in Quebec City, covering over 93,000 square metres, will help meet the future needs of the city.
In addition to offering more than 21,000 square metres of new commercial and office space, this property
will also contain nearly 800 residential units. It will offer a choice of residential options built
around a central hub where various recreational and other facilities will be located fostering the
development of a real sense of community.
Consistent with a sustainable development approach, the project will take into account different environmental
concerns including surface water management, energy consumption, recycling of household waste, and
preserving maximum green space.
The preliminary phase of this project consisted of gutting the inside of the existing buildings.
The Augustines residential project:
The project also involves having the existing building reclassified in order to be able to construct condominium units and an underground parking lot.
Two additional 6 and 7-storey buildings will be built above the underground parking structure and
will house condominium properties. Together, the two buildings will cover approximately 16,000
square metres (excluding parking) and will be built as a tiered structure featuring a number of
open terraces.
The building plan for the east side of the site has been designed as a formal extension of the existing
building.
The building on the west side of the site will be constructed where various utility buildings
currently stand. This building will be located closer to the 50-metre limit from the top of
the cliff.
